There is a great article in today's LA Times home section on a Lautner home that was restored by current owner.
While what WE are doing could in no way ever be compared to the Lautner's, et al of the world, we do get the difference good design can make in homes and elsewhere.
AND, homes that have some degree of design aesthetic do carry a premium as well in terms of price and what you can sell them for.
