These Photos Are Amazing
Antonio Bolfo was
a photographer before he was a cop.
He’s a born and raised New Yorker
who joined the NYPD in 2006. Bolfo, who has a degree from RISD, said he
joined the force in response to feelings of patriotism following Sept.
11th and general boredom (at the time he had a job doing animation for
Playstation games).
Once he was put on the beat in South Bronx projects,
Bolfo began bringing his camera to work in hopes of documenting the job
and capturing images of the emotional and physical strains that come
with it.
His photos show a side of the NYPD
rarely seen by civilians, what it’s like to be a regular working cop on
the job.
His photos show the frustration, boredom and excitement that
goes along with police work- and also some of the spectacular parts of
the job.
But they also show the dangerous frightening moments when
officers put their lives at risk for their jobs in incredibly dangerous
situations.
Amazing!

We Love "Detritus"
Gabriel Orozco’s Asterisms,
the final project of the commissioning program at Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin,
is a two-part sculptural and photographic installation comprising thousands of
items of detritus the artist has gathered at two sites—a playing field near his
home in New York and a protected coastal biosphere in Baja California Sur,
Mexico, that is also the repository for flows of industrial and commercial
waste from across the Pacific Ocean.
Looks like there is a hint of the Modern Beachcomber in the installation.

bettershelter Featured In OC Register
Says Pete Zehnder, bettershelter co-founder: "How many places do
you go to years later and (the homeowners) say I don't want to move?
It's usually the other way around."
Indeed!
Pete and I spent a few hours at 1.7 Ocean the other day and the whole place looks great!

Griffin, The Film
The Film: “Griffin” is a feature-length documentary that explores
the art, life and eccentric spark of one of the world’s least known and
most influential 20th Century surrealists.
Over the time-warped span of the 1960's, one-time teen cartoonist Rick Griffin created defining icons for three pillars of west coast counterculture: surfing, psychedelic rock and underground comix.
On Kickstarter!
