This should be interesting: At the Hammer Museum "The Art Of Surfboard Shaping" Legendary surfboard shaper Scott Anderson has been making custom surfboards at his Venice shop for over twenty years and has helped advance the evolution of surfboard design. Anderson will discuss the physical properties of different models, design experiments and failures, and the process of tailoring a custom board to the individual.

Take Sunset interviewed Imari McDermott about how her experience has been living in a bettershelter home. So far so good! We take pride in what we do-we want our home owners to be happy and are in this process for the long run. Photo of Imari and Matt Manner in front of her home.
Many of the homes we work on are in the Glassell Park area and I am happy to report that LA Bento calls that area home too! Says their website: "About Our Cuisine: All of our proteins are hormone free and sustainably farmed. All our breads are baked fresh every day by Breadbar. All sandwiches can be de-constructed, and served as entree salads. The Environment: We use 100% recyclable paper products. For 10 boxes or more we will pick up unwanted boxes"
I am happy to report their food is delicious and their packaging is amazing, 2 big thumbs up!! Check out their site and get with the program.
A small home on Cross St in Mount Washington. To die for views! Home is a total beater (what else is new), has great potential. We have identified a new strain of weed, we have named it the "REO Weed", this place is filled with them. Excited.
The design bug has officially landed in Bakersfield. The Padre Hotel references the city's agrarian and industrial roots. The place looks nice! Design makes a difference again. Even in Bakersfield.
I had the opportunity to recently tour a home for sale in Laguna Beach. Built in 1937 in poured concrete, the design is in the "International Style".
I have been on a million modern home tours and believe me, I was not prepared for what I saw. This home is as close to a religious experience as you will get with architecture. Walking through the home was an emotional experience! Aside from a cheap 1970's kitchen makeover, the home is completely original. Good news. See listing HERE
