Vanilla Ice Jumps Into The Game

A recent New York Times article describes the new TV reality show that features Vanilla Ice "renovating and selling homes".

Some words of wisdom from Mr Ice: "Basically, you want it to appeal to the masses. You do your earth-toned colors. You want to keep it neutral, warm and welcoming.
Sort of like the decorative sense, and the color advice, that a real designer would do for a model home for Toll Brothers."

The Home Depot Project

I am working on a remodel/design job for a client.
The home is a beater but great location with amazing views of Echo Park lake.

He has a tight budget and calendar and I proposed having EVERYTHING come from.....Home Depot!

Yup, the pinnacle of bad design will be the source for everything.
It will take some creativity and thought, I think we can do it!
Stay tuned.

Rehab In Silver Lake

We are working on a small home in Silver Lake, just behind Gingergrass Restaurant.
An old, ancient cottage built in the teens that at one time not too long ago was filled with a million cats, the smell when we first walked in was pretty unbelievable. Yuck.
The home has tons of charm (which we completely gutted and ripped out), we are tweaking it and will add all the charm back in.
Stay tuned for more details!
